Do you have difficulty sleeping?

Here this short quiz I hand out to all of my patients. Sleep is an essential part of good health. With adequate sleep the immune system works properly. Metabolism is good. Poor sleep can mean the difference between being healthy and being in poor health. So click on the word sleep and see if you answer true to 2 or more. If you answer true to 2 or more you AASM recommends seeing a sleep specialist.

OR

Here's the quiz.
Read the statements below. Answer true or false for each one. Per the  AASM, if you answer true more than twice, you may want to discuss your sleep problem with your healthcare professional.

So how will this save me money? Good question. Most people are on multiple medications. Some even take sleep medicine. Poor sleep will increase one's blood pressure, blood sugars, and cholesterol. It will also indirectly affect healing.

  • Add up your medication and see how much you pay a month.
    • Say you have a great insurance program and pay only $40.00 a month for medications.
  • Times it by 12 months.
    • 40 x 12 = $480.00 a year
  • Add up your co-pay for the doctor visits.
    • You have a great insurance plan that co-payments are only $25.00 a visit and only average 4 visits a year
    • 25 x 4 = $100.00
  • For the year your consistent cost is $580.00

But what if the medications could be decreased and the doctor visits could be decrease. You might end up with $580.00 in your pocket or at least not paying out an extra $580.00
